Winter Olympics

Athletes from at least 84 countries around the world will come together to represent their countries and compete for gold in the Winter Olympics. The 2018 Winter Olympics will be held in Pyeongchang, South Korea and will include over 100 medaling events across 15 sports. New events will be held this year for Big Air Snowboarding, Mass Start Speed Skating, Mixed Team Alpine Skiing, and Mixed Doubles Curling. South Korea last hosted the Olympics in Seoul in 1988. Russia led the medal count in the 2014 Winter Olympics with 33 medals followed by the United States with 28 medals overall. This year athletes from Malaysia, Kosovo, and Eritrea are expected to compete for the first time.
